Creates a log file that records the starting and stopping of every program. Can be used to detect tampering, or just to track the time spent using each program.

Microsoft XP Powertoy. Provides a GUI interface for changing registry settings for mouse, Explorer, taskbar, desktop, control panel, Internet Explorer, and other items. Freeware

Uptime
Shows how long a Windows NT computer has been up and running. Can also display a history of boots/shutdowns, availability time, number of blue screens, mean time between boots, and other information. Freeware

WinHacker
Changes registry settings for explorer, shell, desktop, start menu, system, mouse, and network.

WinInfo
Provides information about the NT operating system including installation type, installation date, and expiration date. Freeware

Win Tune
Tests system, CPU, video, OpenGL, Direct3D, memory, and disk. Results can be compared to other systems. Freeware

Window Watcher
Reports every window created by every running program, whether the window is visible or not. Freeware
